Stormwater BMP Assessment Services at SAFL

Lab Testing

Full-Scale Tests

  • Testing is available for both particulate and dissolved contaminants
  • Accurately measures both the solids retained by the system and those passing through for a complete mass balance
  • Uses synthetic stormwater so influent concentrations, particle sizes, and mass loads are known exactly
  • No waiting for an adequate rainfall event saves time and money
  • Resuspension and washout analysis is available
  • Reproducible results

Scaled Model Tests

  • Smaller size and lower flow rates save time and money
  • Clear walls allow removal processes and flow patterns to be observed and recorded
  • Reproducible results

Field Testing

  • Simulated runoff testing uses a synthetic stormwater so influent pollutant loads are known exactly
  • Often can complete a full mass balance on BMP systems
  • Saves time and money by not waiting for rainfall
  • Reproducible results
