The goal of our research is to understand, quantify and simulate the interaction of physical processes such as flow, mixing and settling with chemical reactions and biological processes in lakes and rivers in order to project unintentional or engineered human effects on water quality and aquatic habitat.

Root River
The South Branch of the Root River, one of several streams in Minnesota being studied to determine the impact of  land development on trout habitat.
