Dr. Sotiropoulos' research centers on computational fluid dynamics, and includes a diverse and cross-disciplinary range of topics in hydraulics and environmental fluid mechanics, turbulence modeling, vortex breakdown, hemodynamics of prosthetic heart valves, hydrodynamics of aquatic animals, ship hydrodynamics, and the computational and experimental study of fluid mixing.
