Nomination Guidelines and Rules
Applicants are expected to:

• Progress satisfactorily toward completion of the research component of their degree
• Maintain high academic standards and achieve a cumulative minimum grade point average of at least 3.5

Students seeking a Master's degree only are expected to pursue the thesis option (Plan A). Students continuing towards a Ph.D. degree at the University of Minnesota may select the non-thesis option (Plan B) and proceed to their doctorate program

SAFL faculty may submit letters of nomination to SAFLawards@umn.edu or the address below in response to an annual call for nominations in the second week of each January.
